Zina Garrison
Panelist: Black Women Champions & their impact on Tennis
Zina Garrison is a former ATA champion and a former top-five professional tennis player. Ms. Garrison was the women's singles runner-up at Wimbledon in 1990, a three-time Grand Slam mixed doubles champion, and a women's doubles gold medalist and singles bronze medalist in Seoul at the 1988 Olympic Games. She has worked as a television commentator and maintains active roles in the community and tennis.
She founded the Zina Garrison Foundation for the homeless in 1988 and the Zina Garrison All –COURT tennis Program, which supports inner-city tennis in Houston in 1992. Garrison also led the U.S. women's tea' at the 2008 Beijing Games tennis event where team members Venus and Serena Williams won the gold medal in doubles.
